In a delightful turn of events, the name of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s second baby boy has been unveiled, putting an end to the mystery. The birth certificate, obtained by The Blast, reveals that the power couple chose to name their newborn son “Riot Rose Mayers.”
He made his grand entrance into the world on August 1, 2023, at 7:41 a.m. at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
Notably, this is the second child’s name in the family to start with the letter “R,” which may be an homage to a tradition of first names beginning with the same letter. (A$AP Rocky’s legal name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers.)
Following earlier confirmations from sources that Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their second child in August, an insider shared with PEOPLE that Rihanna now feels that her family is complete, fulfilling a long-held aspiration.
Rihanna, at 35 years old, and the “Fashion Killa” rapper are already doting parents to their first child, RZA Athelston. Born on May 13, 2022, in Los Angeles, the 15-month-old was named after the Wu-Tang co-founder bearing a similar moniker.
A$AP Rocky, the 34-year-old rapper, recently dropped his latest single titled “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n)” on July 20, which serves as the second single from his highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Don’t Be Dumb.” The track was produced by the talented duo Pharrell and Tyler, the Creator.
Notably, Rihanna, a proud Barbados native, made a historic announcement about her second pregnancy during the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show in Phoenix. She became the first pregnant woman to headline the halftime show.
That memorable moment was followed by a confirmation from Rihanna’s representative to PEOPLE magazine, solidifying the exciting news as she proudly showcased her baby bump in a red jumpsuit, layered over a close-fitting bodysuit and sculpted bandeau.
